We have new addition!! As most of you know, our beloved Nelson never returned. With all of the unadopted euthanized animals in this world, we knew our household would not be "cat-empty" for a long while.This is "Samson Shiner", named similarly after his predecessor "Nelson Nachos". We wanted to keep with the "ridiculously dorky" first name and the "food/beverage we love" middle name in honor of Nelson!
We wanted to start this blog primarily to keep Samson's Godmother Alicia up to date while he grows into a big boy, but we also figured this would be a great way to inform our friends and family as well!
We found Samson on craigslist yesterday, posted by Alicia. He sounded like a wonderful kitten, so we requested to see some pictures of him. I immediately fell in love with him. John on the other hand needed convincing. We arrived at Alicia's apartment and John was smitten, totally in love! We had also made arrangements to visit with another kitten in the Austin area that evening, so after tearing ourselves from Samson, we left. The other kitten painfuly reminded us of Nelson and was very shy. He was gray with a small amount of white on his feet and tummy. I felt really bad, I wanted to take both, but we know it was for the best to only bring ONE kitten home to our two dogs! We are confident the other kitten will be adopted soon.
We'll post more details about what he's been up to tomorrow and more precious pictures!!! The good news.... the dogs love him, but Chevy's a little disappointed.... she thinks we bought the wrong size. :) She'd prefer he be a bit larger so she can play with him, but little does she know he'll be large enough to play with her in no time. Meanwhile, Lexie is taking advantage of his small size and playing with him very gently! We are all very happy with our new addition! Thank you, Alicia!
